What you will be doing:
As part of Astore Tools & Digital Innovation team, the BI Product Owner, Digital Procurement, is responsible for designing and implementing an Business Intelligence platform for our Global Procurement Organization (Astore). This person is responsible for representing the customers voice (internal & external), creating a compelling product vision and providing clarity for the Development Team on the actions to be taken. Position to be physically located at in Paris but frequent travels will be required.
Main activities for the BI Product Owner :
Represents the customers voice and creates a Business Intelligence product vision together with the stakeholders
Orders the Product Backlog hereby balancing priority, risk, value, learning opportunities and dependencies
Understands the best way to convey information is face-to-face communication
Demonstrates a strong business sense and ability to understand business models
Is knowledgeable and has in depth functional product knowledge and understands the technical platform
Acts on different levels – should know how to explain the product strategy at board level, create support at middle management and motivate the Development Team with their daily challenges
Is available for the stakeholders, customers and Development Team
Is an entrepreneur for his/her product, has a keen eye for opportunities, focuses on business value and the Return on Investment and acts proactive on possible risks and threats
Understands BI-concepts and know how to “play” with data.
Typical background and competencies
Great educational background, preferably a degree in a business or technical field
At least 5 years of experience in a product owner role with demonstrated leadership in product definition and implementation
Strong technical understanding combined with acute business sense. Knowledge in VBA, SQL or other programming languages
Experience with Microsoft systems (Azure, PowerBi, etc.).
Ability to drive cross-functional, multi-cultural teams (internal and external) ideally through an Agile framework.
Strong project management skills
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Proven problem solving using analytical and quantitative skills
Empathy, drive, ability to convince. Excellent team-player; ability to maintain strong relationships across key stakeholders and constituents
Change & complex environment management
Knowledge in VBA, SQL or other programming languages
Fluent in English & French
