Senior Web Developer (Irlande)

Overall Purpose of Role:

We have an opening for a dynamic and experienced individual to work as a Senior Web Developer.

This position will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, using the most advanced, reliable software system that is a real-time, network intensive, global application.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • The Senior Web Developer will be part of a team responsible for the development of websites that use web-service applications, primarily in PHP using Apache and Linux
  • Responsible for technical leadership of the company’s Web Applications, with a focus on the company’s [W:TYPO3]-based Content Management System
  • Responsible for the delivery and management of each stage in the project lifecycle of web applications, back end interfaces and framework components
  • Must be able to demonstrate multiple successfully completed TYPO3 projects, ideally of complex nature
  • Must be familiar with web services and their associated protocols and definition languages, [W:SOAP], XML, HTTP, [W:RPC], and [W:WSDL]
  • Will be responsible for developing production-level code, as well as proof-of-concepts and prototypes
  • You will work primarily with PHP, procedural and object-oriented design, dynamic content retrieval, performance optimization, unit testing, and debugging techniques
  • Writing standards-compliant complex CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, within a small group in a start-up development environment

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Expert knowledge of TYPO3 Core, including development and adaption of TYPO3 extensions
  • Strong command of CSS, HTML/XHTML, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, MS SQL Server
  • Extensive MySQL or other [W:RDBMS] performance tuning experience
  • Client-side javascript performance engineering
  • Familiarity with both the Prototype and [W:jQuery] javascript libraries
  • Well versed in code optimization and software design principles, and have a passion and demonstrated experience in software development
  • The ideal candidate will have a BSCS/MSCS, (or relevant work experience), or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant web programming experience, or 5+ years in CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, and 1+ years of leadership experience
  • Excellent analytical and programming skills
  • Fluent in English

Pluses:

  • Knowledge of poker
  • Working knowledge of TYPO3 involve
  • Creation of Web Services using PHP (NuSOAP, PEAR Soap and/or PHP Native SOAP)
  • Knowledge of and experience publishing and parsing semantic XHTML
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience with [W:SVN] and the TestTrack Pro issue tracking tool
